How to make sourdough bread
This practical and easy sourdough bread recipe gives you confidence to make your own delicious bread.
Take the sourdough starter from a fridge add water and flour ( about 1 cup of flour) to feed the starter in a morning.
Mix everything up in a bowl and cover it with a cloth. Consistency should be of about runny dough.
In an evening feed it again ( water & flour). Next morning add extra flour water, salt ( about a teaspoon) and spices ( we use ground caraway seeds) to make a bread dough.
Mix everything up and put it into a bread baking tray and let it rise for 3 hr. It should double its volume. Then put it into a preheated oven at 220 C for about 35 minutes.
Don’t forget to keep some starter for the next time. We take about three tablespoons of starter (before adding salt and spices) in a glass jar in a fridge. It stores well there for several weeks without feeding – starter culture go dormant in a fridge.
